First pic shows the Corded Brussles stitching complete, second pic shows the start of the crochet edge to hold the horizontal threads in place, last pic shows the finished piece - I stitched a backing on to pull the loose edge threads to the inside. Now that it's finished, I don't like it, so it's going in my experiment portfolio.

I love this piece. It would look really cool as a fragmented piece of a larger work, maybe waterycoloured monet stuff in the background. I love monet's work, I have a lovely pastel a friend did a la monet and I used Monet as inspiration for a painted vase. Might take some pictures and post on my blog!!
I agree that it is a lovely little piece. I'm not sure how big it is but ... perhaps stretch and put in a frame, or - part of a bag?
Strange, but I like this piece again - I folded it in half and it's telling me it wants to be a bag, so I just have to figure out gussets and a flap - thanks for the ideas AussieJo and vivian
This is indeed a lovely little piece. I also find the technique very interesting, maybe that's naive but to me it seems related to freestyle weaving as much as to needlelace. One day I'll need to get back to my experiments with freestyle weaving.
Glad you enjoyed the piece. Yes, it reminds me of weaving too, except it's just buttonhole stitch over the "warps". I've never heard of "freestyle weaving" so thanks for the idea - I'm off to do a bit of research on the internet. Cool!
